What are Types of Headphones?

We all commonly call headphones or earphones; we can distinguish them into two macro groups, based on the shape and a technical parameter called acoustic load.

Concerning the form, we have:

Headphones (On-Ear)
Headphones (Over-Ear)

The headphones earphones are predominantly used with smartphones and in general with all mobile devices. They can be a good solution if you are looking for convenience; you move a lot and prefer portability at the expense of audio quality.

Ear-Buds earphones:

They are more comfortable thanks to the headband that wraps the head and avoids the discomfort of having a foreign body in the ear. On the negative side, if used for long periods, we can feel a “heating “of the ear and poor insulation from the outside.

Over-Ear Headphones:

They completely cover and surround the auricle, further isolating the ear. The quality of the reproduced sound is generally remarkable, the best among the various categories.
