height and weight of your child for a Booster seat!

If you are using a car safety seat for your kid, considering different factors in mind is something you need to be careful about. Your kid deserves safety not just in-home and school but even during driving time as well. And this is something our topic today is all about!

To buy a booster seat for your kid, it is important to consider the height and weight requirements of the seat for your kid’s comfort. Among different types of booster seats, you will find that each has varying requirements in the height and weight scenario. Let’s see what each type of booster seat requirement is.

Three Different Types of Booster Seats for kids:

There are three main types of rear-facing seats available as rear-facing–only, convertible, and all-in-one. Once the kid has reached the highest length and weight as permitted by the seat manufacture, they need to continue riding the rear-facing in any convertible or the all-in-one seat!

  1. Rear-facing–only seats:

  • It is just used by infants who are between 26-35 pounds based on the model.
  • They are lightweight, compact, and are available with carrying handles.
  • Plus, it is also available with the base, which is generally left in the car. The seat clicks into and out of your base, so you don’t need to install the car seat each time you are using it. Parents are allowed to choose with more than one base for different vehicles.
  • It is perfect to use for travel and not for feeding, sleeping, or outside walk.
  1. Convertible seats (used rear-facing)

You can use them for the rear-facing, which can, later on, be converted into the forward-facing as well. Hence, the convertible seats are quite a lot bulkier as compared to the infant seats. But they are not available with carrying handles or separate bases and are yet designed to stay in the car.

  • They do have higher limits in the rear-facing weight, which is around 40-50 pounds. This is the main reason that these amazing convertible seats are ideal for bigger babies or toddlers.
  • Included with the 5-point harness that attaches at the shoulders, hips, and just in between the legs.
  • It is best to be used for just travel purposes and not for feeding or sleeping of baby.
  1. All-in-one seats (used rear-facing)

  • It is excellent to be used as the forward-facing, rear-facing, or as a belt-positioning booster. In simple, this seat can be used by any of the children as they start to grow.
  • They are quite big, so make sure you check the size of the seat so it won’t turn to be uneasy for the kids.
  • Does not offer a separate base or the carrying handle. But they have some higher limits in the rear-facing weight, which is 40–50 pounds.

End Conclusion:

When purchasing a booster seat for your kid’s safety, make sure you pay attention on the requirements of height and weight and see which one is best for your baby travel time.
